City Meet 2021 Wrap Up
Congratulations, team! The kids swam their hearts out over two tough days of competition and the 2021 CASL City Meet team championship belongs to the Tidal Waves! Great job to ALL the swimmers on their meet performances, for supporting their teammates, and for all the work it took to bring home the trophy. Every swimmer on the team has something to celebrate today -- from finishing their first season of competitive swimming to record-setting times, from new personal bests to age group championships. We are so proud of this team and how well they performed while maintaining the positive and encouraging team culture that makes the Tidal Waves such a special group.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all our team parents. NONE of it happens without the behind-the-scenes work of figuring out swim taxi schedules, packing snacks, finding goggles, putting on caps, finding another pair of goggles, hauling stuff to/from cars, corralling kids, volunteering for meet jobs, and all the other thankless tasks that go into swim parenting. You're what makes the sport go and how our kids get into position to achieve their goals, so THANK YOU for all you do!
Without further ado, let's talk about results from the meet.
Team Competition: In the team competition, we finished with 3,350.5 points and a margin of 1,324.5 points over 2nd place. Considering the average margin over the past 5 City Meets has been somewhere around 250 points, that's an amazing feat!

There were many more new personal bests, first-time legal swims, and great relay times -- not to mention those who experienced their first big meet, all the fun with friends, and getting to wrap it up by celebrating a team championship together. Another edition of the best swim meet around is in the books and we're tremendously proud of this team and all they accomplished. Congratulations again to our swimmers and thanks to the families who support them. Rest up and we will see you at the banquet!
