City Meet Week Info
July 5th
It's City Meet Week! There will be a good bit of info coming your way the next few days, so hang in there and try to absorb it all as we get ready for Friday. Here we go:
- Meet Info Reminder:
- The meet runs Friday and Saturday at the Arlene Crye Pool at 19 Van Cleve St in Fort Oglethorpe. 10U sessions are in the morning, 11U sessions in the afternoon, finals for qualifiers of all ages are in the evening
- Pre-meet information can be found in this document, including the overall meet timeline on pp8-10
- The psyche sheet is located here.
- Volunteers will be needed for timing and for organizing relays during both prelims (morning/afternoon) and finals (evening). Many of you have already signed up and we greatly appreciate the help!
- Tomorrow night at 5:30 will be Poster Night at OSC. Every year for City Meet, the kids like to make posters and festive team decor to put up in our team area and around the facility. If your swimmers want to show off their art skills to support the team, come on out! The club will supply poster board, so bring any other art supplies you need to show your Tidal Wave spirit!
- In preparation for the meet, there will be no PM practices on Thursday. If you normally practice in the afternoon/evening, you are invited to come to one of the three morning practice sessions:
- If you normally practice 4-5:30pm, please come to either the 7-9am or 9-10:30am practice
- If you normally practice 6:30-7:30pm, please come to either the 9-10:30am or 10:30-11:30am practice
- Finally, City Meet can take a lot out of our swimmers (and parents, too...let's be honest)! Please be sure that practice, lots of rest, good food, and hydration are part of the plan for the week. They swim the weekend on what they do during the week, so let's put them in the best position to succeed!
