Meet Info: Signal Mountain Away
June 14th
We head up Signal Mountain to meet the Green Giants tomorrow afternoon for our first road meet of the season. This will be, as always, a tough meet against CASL's traditional powerhouse. It wasn't long ago at all when these folks won every meet for the better part of a decade. So, let's be ready!
Here are the (numerous and important) notes for the day:
- Times:
- The meet starts at 6:00
- Warm-ups are at 5:30
- We ask everyone to get to the pool at 5:00 (when we are allowed to start setting up). Signal Mountain has the only team larger than ours, so getting warmups in and the meet going on time is important.
- Location: The pool is located at 1100 Ridgeway Ave, Signal Mountain, TN 37377
- Volunteers: We still need several volunteers -- With hundreds of athletes, families, friends, and a tight timeline, it takes lots of people to run these meets efficiently and we appreciate your help -- it doesn't happen without you!
- 1x Deck Parent: 9-10 Girls
- 3x Place Judges
- 3x Timers
- 1x Place Recorder
- 1x Scorekeeper
Don't be intimidated by the timing/judging jobs (or any of them, really) if you've never done them -- there's a first time for everything and you'll have help.
- Pool Area:
- When entering from the main entrance, our seating area is on the left side of the pool.
- We can sit on the bleachers, pool deck, and grassy areas on the right-half of that area (when viewed with the pool behind you).
- Please remind the kids to not play on the diving boards.
- Restrooms are located near the entryway.
- Check In: We will have check-in volunteers near the beginning of the bleacher area. Please be sure to check your swimmers in and yourself if you're volunteering.
- Alternates: Signal has an 8-lane pool, so all alternates will swim in the points heats
- Concessions: The pool will have concessions, but mostly snacks and candy
- Parking & Traffic:
- Parking is available around the Town Hall and down towards the baseball fields.
- Please be sure to not block driveways -- particularly the one-way circle drive in front of the pool. Traffic will back up behind you very quickly and cause gridlock.
- Please note (per a reminder from our friends at Signal Mountain) that the speed limit in town is 35mph and is strictly enforced!
That's all for now. Heat sheets and any additional info will be emailed tomorrow afternoon. Go Tidal Waves!
