    City Meet Info: The Basics

    City Meet Participants -

It's City Meet Week! There will be a lot of info coming your way over the next few days, so hang in there and try to absorb it all as we get ready for Friday. Here we go:

    • The official meet info document from the host club can be found here.
    • The meet will happen Friday and Saturday at Arlene Crye Pool at 19 Van Cleve St in Fort Oglethorpe.
    • 10 & Under swimmer preliminary sessions are in the morning, with 11 & Over prelims in the afternoon, and finals for qualifiers of all ages (top 8 relays, top 16 individuals) in the evening
    • This page on the CASL website has the psyche sheet & meet info above. As more info is available (heat sheets, crash area map, etc.), those will be added as well.
    • Heat sheets are usually ready sometime on Thursday.
    • Volunteers will be needed for timing and organizing relays during both prelims (morning/afternoon) and finals (evening). Many of you have already signed up to time and/or organize relays and we greatly appreciate the help!
    • We will all live in a big tent city for a couple of days. Typically we are able to start setting up on Thursday afternoon after 4pm. We will send out a map of the area once that is finalized.
    • In preparation for the meet, there will be no PM practices on Thursday. If you normally practice in the afternoon/evening, you are invited to come to one of the three morning practice sessions:
      • If your swimmer normally practice 4-5:30pm, please come to either the 7-9am or 9-10:30am practice
      • If your swimmer normally practice 6:30-7:30pm, please come to either the 9-10:30am or 10:30-11:30am practice
    • The Meet Mobile smartphone app (NOT SwimTopia!), will have live results posted as available throughout the weekend. Be sure to download it so you can follow along. We'll post info on how to find the meet in the app once that info is available.
    • Tidal Waves' City Meet Records: the Tidal Waves have been going to City Meet since 2009. Our team keeps a record book of the fastest of all those thousands of swims. If you want to get motivated to swim some fast times, go check it out at https://ooltewah.swimtopia.com/records and then let's go break them!!
    • Finally, City Meet can take a lot out of our swimmers (and parents…). Please be sure that practice, rest, good food, and hydration are part of the plan for the week. They swim the weekend on what they put in during the week, so let's put them in the best position to succeed!

That's it for now. Stay tuned for more as the week progresses.
