    We're off and running

I hope the kids are having a great time at practice and learning a lot. I know our coaches are having a lot of fun working with all our swimmers, as always. As we move on into the practice routine, be sure to encourage your swimmers as they work their way into swim shape. For new swimmers, the transition from swim lessons to swim practice can be a bit of a shock. Swimming is fun, but swim practice can be hard! Our most important jobs as swim parents are to encourage them, celebrate their victories (making it through practice, firsts of all sorts, etc.), and to help them have a vision of success -- whatever that looks like for them. Thanks, parents, for everything you do for them!

Thanks to everyone who made it out to the parent meeting on Monday. Here are a few important items to review:

    • Be sure to download and log in to the SwimTopia app (Apple | Android) and turn on notifications. We will use this for urgent/time-sensitive communications during the season. Our timing system also posts near-real-time results during dual meets, so it's the best way to keep up with results, times, and scoring during those meets.
    • Review our team handbook . This is an excellent resource, particularly for our new families, with all sorts of info about the Tidal Waves and CASL swimming.
    • Take a minute to look at our parking map before meet days. Once we start the regular season, having an understanding of the go/no-go spots around OSC goes a long way towards keeping us in the good graces of our neighbors.
    • This year's schedule is up to date with all the fun

    What's coming next?

    • The practice schedule changes this coming Monday to our normal / in-season routine. See the schedule here.
    • Fun Meet is on Friday, May 31. Be on the lookout for an RSVP email early next week.
    • We’ll be delivering swim caps (for everyone) and merchandise (for those who ordered it during April registration) at the Fun Meet.
    • Our first regular season meet will be at Stuart Heights on Monday, June 3

One final note from pool management: if swimmers have/find any issues in the bathrooms, please report those immediately to a coach. We’re guests of the pool and need to do our part to help them keep things in top shape!

That's it for now. As always, please reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions you have...and go Tidal Waves!
