Practice Changes, Notes, & Fun Meet This Week

Here's what's going on this week as we work towards our Fun Meet / time trials on Friday and the start of the regular season next Monday:

    Practice:

    • We will offer practice on Memorial Day
    • Our new daily (M-F) practice schedule starts tomorrow:
      • 10:30 am to 11:30 am - All ages (No SETS year-round swimmers, please)
      • 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm - Ages 13 & up
      • 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm - Ages 12 & under
      • Note: If your swimmer is near the cutoff ages, but could benefit from either a more or less challenging practice than their age would dictate, speak with the coaches to see if a different session might be a better fit.
    • The coaches would like to share a few practice-time requests for parents attending practices:
      • If parents will be on the pool deck for practice, please sit nearest the fence on each side of the pool or on the pool end nearest the building. Please leave the areas behind the blocks and near the edge of the pool clear for coaches and swimmers.
      • If you need to speak with your swimmer, please ask the coach to get their attention and they will send them to you.
      • Pets are not allowed on the pool deck. Feel free to keep them outside the fence and watch from there.

    Fun Meet is this Friday!

It's Tidal Waves against Tidal Waves and it's time to bring your A-game to show what you're ready to do on meet day! RSVP for swimmers and volunteer positions is open now on the website.

We call it Fun Meet (and it is definitely lots of fun), but it's also a chance to do some very important things for your swimmer and the team:

    • Get the swimmers into 'meet mode' prior to the season starting on June 3rd. Returning swimmers benefit from re-familiarizing themselves with the meet environment and new swimmers get an opportunity to start understanding what's going on during the craziness of a summer swim meet.
    • Record times for everyone so we can see where they are at the beginning of the season and determine who's going to swim for points on Monday night against Stuart Heights.

Finally, look for the RSVP window for Monday's meet at Stuart Heights to open on Tuesday. We'll communicate when it's time to start signing up.

Those are the big items for the week. As always, email us at [email protected] with any questions you have.
