    Fun Meet Info

It's Fun Meet day and we're looking forward to seeing some racing!  Here are the details for the day -- there are a lot of them, but they are all important.  Here we go:

    • Heat Sheet: Fun Meet 2026 Heat Sheet
    • Show up time will be 4:30 and warm ups will start at 4:40. The meet will start at 5:30 and we expect to be done somewhere in the 8:30 range.
    • Be sure you've installed SwimTopia and are set up to receive notifications.  Any urgent (e.g. weather) updates will be sent via the app.
    • Heat sheets will come out via email later this morning / early this afternoon.
    • Parking
      • Please take a minute to visit the website and familiarize yourself with the parking options around the pool: https://www.tidalwavesswim.com/meetparking. Note that the red areas of the map are tow-away zones at the discretion of the businesses they belong to.  PLEASE don't let your meet day end with a trip to the impound lot.
      • For Fun Meet, it's ok to park in the big parking lot on the south side of the pool (the one you use for practice). In the future, this will be our primary visiting team parking area. Please follow the excellent and appreciated directions of the parking crew so we can fit everyone in in an orderly manner.
      • Do not block the exit pathways on the ends of the rows.
    • If you're signed up to volunteer, an email will be heading your way shortly with some details about your job.
    • We will be distributing swim caps for all swimmers and merchandise for those who ordered in April. After check-in, those will all be available at the concession stand.  It may get a little congested over there, but we'll get to everyone.  Thanks in advance for your patience!
    • Parents of 10 & under swimmers:
      • It is your responsibility to help your child get to the purple tent / staging area by the kiddie pool in time for their events. We will have deck parents lining them up and keeping the groups together once they're there, but we need your help with getting them there in time. Event calls will be made by our outstanding meet announcer and SwimTopia Pro (the paid version) will deliver helpful reminders, so thanks for listening up for those and having your swimmer in the right place at the right time.
      • Please write your child's name and age on the back of their right shoulder to help the coaches and deck parents get & keep them organized for their events.
    • New parents:
      • You'll want to print a copy of the heat sheet document to have with you so you can keep up with what's happening (also available in condensed form in the SwimTopia app if you have a Pro subscription, but paper never has trouble with connectivity, etc.) If you're not familiar with how to mark your swimmer for a meet, get out your heat sheet and Sharpie and follow the info here: Marking your swimmer's events.
      • Andy will be in the kiddie pool area for new-parent Q&A at 4:30. If you want to know how to put a cap on your swimmer, mark arms/legs with event info, or whatever other meet day questions you have, just bring them and we'll help you get started.

If you have any questions while we're at the pool, just find any board member (Andy, Rebecca, or David tonight) or any parent who looks like they know what they're doing and we're all happy to help!

As always, reach out to us with any questions you have at [email protected]
