    City Meet Championship Entries

    Tidal Waves,

Believe it or not, we have to start thinking about City Meet entries already even though it seems that we just started our meet season.  The meet is July 11-12 (Fri & Sat).

The City Meet Info is attached to this email as a PDF.  Please read all of this document.

The City Meet Championship is a lot of fun for the swimmers and parents.  As a now somewhat veteran summer and year-round swim dad, I say it is the best swim meet of the year.

Remember all of your fees for City Meet have already been paid in your registration.  We want to make a big splash and take as many swimmers as we can.  There is no restriction on the number "point swimmers", so every swimmer has a chance to place top 16 which earns points for the team.  Let's sign up as many Tidal Waves as we can to WIN the BLUE DIVISION TROPHY!

    Here's how it works...

10 & unders swim a morning session each day that ends around lunch time.  The 11 & ups swim the afternoon session each day beginning around lunch.  If your swimmer places top 16 in any event with finals (the meet info specifies which events have finals), they come back for finals (around 5:30) in the evening.  New this year, top 8 relay teams come back for finals as well.  The participants are introduced to the crowd before each event.  It can be a big thrill for your family!  Because each day stands on its own, you can swim just one day of the meet as well.

A swimmer can swim a maximum of 5 individual events over the 2 days.  You will choose those for your swimmer.  If you are unsure, ask Coach Eryn, and she can give you guidance.  The coach will choose which swimmers swim relays.  We will likely enter multiple relays per age group (depending on number of swimmers in a given age group).  So if you have been swimming an A, B, or C relay at dual meets, you will likely swim relays at City Meet.  There is one relay event each day.

You will need to print page 5 of the attached PDF file. Write your swimmer's name and summer league age on the page.  Circle up to 5 individual events for your swimmer.  Write on the page if you are able to swim relays.  And declare if you are swimming only one of the two days and which.  Drop these pages stapled together in the box at the pool on the volunteer board table that will be labeled "City Meet" OR scan and submit back to this email address.  The box will be setup by this evenings practice.

The deadline for entries is Friday, June 20 by the end of night practice.  We will take care of submitting entries to the league by the host team's deadline.

Thanks and we hope to see all of our Tidal Waves at City Meet Championships!
