Hello All Tidal Waves,

 

We are excited about the upcoming season and welcome you to the Ooltewah Tidal Waves Summer Swim Family, especially those new to us!

There is much information to get out in this email so please read the entire email to find out what is happening in the next 10 days...

First, practice will begin Tues, May 27th.  Two practices per day will be offered for each age group.  The older group (11 & up) will practice from 7am-9am (M-F) and again from 8pm-9pm (M-F).  The younger group (10 & under) will practice from 9am-10:30am (M-F) and again from 7pm-8pm (M-F).  In the mornings, some of the newer swimmers will stop by 10am, so check with the coaches about your swimmer.

Second, we will have a parent meeting the first evening of practice on Tues, 5/27 at 7pm.  This is recommended, especially for new families.  You will get a chance to meet the board and ask any questions about what to expect this summer.  We will distribute information about this meeting if you cannot attend.

Third, Swim & Tri has decided to return for another swim suit fitting in case you missed the last one.  They will be here the first night of practice Tues, 5/27 from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  If you would like to pre-order by phone, they can bring the suit down and save you shipping.  Just call 865-622-9453 and speak with our team rep, Brian Smith.

Fourth, remember the Time Trials/Fun Meet on Thurs, 5/29.  We plan to start the meet at 6pm.  The pool will close for our meet at 5:30, so be sensitive to the fact that OSC will have members still enjoying the pool until 5:30.  We will begin setup for the meet and warmups soon after 5:30.  This is a great time for new swimmers to see how a meet will generally run.  It is also a great time for the coaches to get times on all the swimmers to prepare for our first dual meet of the season.  We will talk more about this fun meet at the parent meeting.

Fifth, the Ooltewah Swim Center is hosting a "Summer Tidal Waves Kick-off Party" on Friday, 5/30 from 4pm-7pm at OSC.  Our coaches are planning lots of fun with crazy relays and water games.  They will be charging $2.50/person with a max of $10/family to cover the cost of pizza.  Dinner will be served  at 6pm.  Please reply to this email with how many in your family will be attending so OSC knows how much pizza to order.  All family members are invited.  This party will take the place of practice that night.

Sixth, one last announcement... we are extending the t-shirt order date to try to meet our minimum order requirement from our supplier.  If you would like another for anyone in your family, please go back through the registration process and add more t-shirts to your order.
